In this handsome painting of St. Hubert, we see him out in the wooded hills of Belgium. He has been doing what he loves most, hunting, and suddenly he sees in the horns of a great stag the Cross of Jesus Christ. He falls to his knees, moved deep in his heart. According to legend, he says, "Lord, what wouldst Thou have me do?"

Formerly a courtesan in the court of the local king, living a life of worldly pleasures, he now takes up the cause of Christ. He eventually becomes a priest and then a bishop. He is the patron saint of hunters and mathematicians. Born about 656 AD, he died May 30, 727 AD. 

The earth tones of this beautiful print look good in a den or a man-cave. Frame it in wood brown. It will look gorgeous. This painting of Hubert by Scheele (1890-1918) was modeled on an earlier painting by Wilhelm Rauber, "The Covnersion of Holy Hubertus," which we also carry. 

** IMPORTANT ** THE IMAGE IS SMALLER THAN THE PAPER! There is a white border of about 0.5" inch for 5x7", 1.3" for 8.5x11", or 1.6" for 11x14" pictures. All Approx!
